My
name is Tim Cook. I am married with two children, Lauren
10 and Emily 8. We also have 2 dogs, 2 cats and 4 rabbits
- we all love pets.
I work in a local 'light industry' factory where I am
a Production Manager.
My other interests include computers and walking my
dogs.
I don't have many dis-likes, but I don't like rudeness
and also I feel there is too much violence in todays
society.
I have experience in another Martial art
before
coming to Kung Fu I studied Kyokushinkai Karate for
three and a half years.
I
began training in Fung Yang Sau kung fu in May 2005
and have enjoyed every minute since.
Having previously trained in karate, kung fu has opened
my eyes to so much more. I believe kung fu to be one
of the most complete martial arts that seems to encompass
all others. I have yet to see anything in another style
that is not covered in this style of kung fu.
I particularly like Fung Yang Sau as it is soft in defence
and hard in offence. Not meeting an attack with force
but rather yielding or evading it. This in conjunction
with the hard and fast offensive techniques makes it
a most formidable art.
I
enjoy kung fu for both the physical benefits it brings
and the self defence aspects, particularly with regard
to today's society. My favourite part of training is
sparring because it gives you the chance to try out
your techniques, putting combinations together and finding
out what works for you, while in return, learning from
others. Each opponent is different in size, shape and
ability and will bring a different challenge, meaning
that you have to adapt to each one in turn.
